Rotary Club of Marquette Scholarships
Post-secondary academic scholarships for graduating high school students in the Marquette school system are provided through two avenues. The scholarship committee of Marquette Senior High School assists in processing applications and choosing the scholarship recipients.
- The Marquette Rotary Fund, a 501(c)3 branch of the Rotary Club of Marquette, provides scholarships for two and four-year degree study at Upper Peninsula colleges and universities. It also awards vocational scholarships to students entering the trade fields. The Fund is under the direction of a separate Board of Trustees that administers the scholarship program. Income derived from Club ‘happy dollars’ contributes to this Fund.
- The Rotary Club of Marquette has two endowed scholarships that are managed and awarded by the Great Lakes Center for Youth Development as part of their Excellence in Education Program. The Rotary Club of Marquette Exemplary Rotarian Burt Sparhawk scholarship is awarded to a student in the top 5% of the graduating class. The Rotary Club of Marquette Professional Development scholarship is given to a teacher in the Marquette Area Public Schools.
